YOUR FEEDBACK CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE ON CAMPUS

Did you know that 2019 marks the third time York University has participated in the National College Health Assessment (NCHA) survey?

The ACHA-National College Health Assessment (NCHA) is a confidential survey that will be administered from March 4 to March 22 to a sample of approximately 8,000 graduate and undergraduate students currently enrolled at York.

York University is committed to using the NCHA results to better understand the health needs of our students to help build a strategy for student well-being and shape a culture of wellness on campus.

Previous results from this survey have led to the implementation of strategic changes on campus including York’s Mental Health Strategy, Peer Health Education, Careers, Student Financial Services, Graduate Studies and Learning Skills programming and the introduction of The Wellness Hub in September 2018.

Your voice matters!

Your responses impact and benefit your student experience and future student experiences at York. Some examples of changes on our campus as a result of the NCHA include:

  • York’s Mental Health Strategy, which helped to set long-term priorities and plans to support student mental health and wellness.

  • York’s emerging Well-being Strategy which prioritizes the cohesive integration of policy, space, programs, services, governance and academic principles to improve the health and well-being of all community members.
  • Peer Health Education programming around topics of concern and interest to students such as sexual health, alcohol and other drugs, mental health and nutrition
  • The Wellness Hub, a centralized space for students to access health information and referrals to on-campus and off-campus services and supports
  • Accessible suicide safety training safeTALK and ASIST
